Sheridan Smith, an actor, singer was born to the country and western musical duet Collin and Marilyn in Yorkshire. Her parents used to perform as Country and Western pair called The Daltons. She was raised up in an entertainment industry and started learning dance when she was just four years old and singing by the age of seven. She later performed with her parents in their music concerts. She got her first acting experience through National Youth Music Theatre as Tallulah.
 
Her first TV appearance came through her role in the Dark Ages as Mathilde. She received her Global acknowledgement from the BBC comedy series The Royal Family in 1999 as Ralph Little’s girlfriend. Other minor appearances include the series like The Bill, Fat Friends, HolbyCity, Gavin & Stacey, SexActually, Blood Strangers, Lark Rise to Candleford and sidekick to Jonathan Creek. She has also gained popularity from her role of Jen in the series Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps.
 
She has worked in films like Quartet, Powder Room, Tower Black, Hysteria and many others. She has also worked in Menier Chocolate Factory's production, Little Shop of Horrors in a lead role as Audrey. She has won many awards for her work in Flare Path like Best Featured Actress in a Play in 2011, Best Actress award in 2011, Best Performance in a Supporting Role award in 2012.
