Sofia Vergara is an actress and also a model. The actress studied dentistry for three years at one of the universities in Colombia. However, she left the course to pursue an acting in modelling. Her first experience in modelling was after she was discovered in Columbia by a photographer. She went on to make an appearance in a Pepsi commercial. After that, she attended the Creative Workshops School of Acting.
 
Her first movie major appearance was in the movie The Three Stooges. The next year, she was on a show on the web called Vida con Toty. At the time, she was the highest earning woman in television in America. She earned 19 million dollars according to a list which was released by Forbes. People magazine has named her one of the fifty most beautiful people, and she has been named as one of the most influential women of Latin descent in the Hollywood category. In the year 2015, the actress got a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
 
She was the face of the makeup brand CoverGirl in the year 2011. The first advertisement in which she appeared was in 2012. Her Pepsi commercial was in 2011 in which she appeared alongside the soccer player David Beckham. Other commercials she has appeared in include the Xfinity brand and State Farm insurance.
 
The actress was diagnosed with cancer in the year 2000, but since then has undergone surgery, therapy, and she has made a full recovery. She got a perfect score on the citizenship test that the United States makes people take who want to get a citizenship after they undergo so many other long processes.
