Steve Kazee is an award-winning American theater and TV actor. He stepped into the theater circuit for the first time while he was in college. Steve later made his professional theater debut with 'As You Like It.' In his career to date, Steve has been part of several plays and musicals. However, the project that helped Steve establish himself as a prolific stage actor was 'Once.' He has starred in both ‘off-Broadway’ and ‘Broadway’ versions of the musical and has won the 2012 'Tony Award' for the ‘Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Musical.’ Steve has simultaneously worked in the TV industry, making his debut in 2006. Since then, he has appeared on various TV shows. Some of his notable TV appearances include shows such as 'Shameless,' 'Nashville,' 'Legends,' 'NCIS,' and 'CSI.' Steve has also been part of two prominent music projects. One of them was the soundtrack of 'Once,' for which he shared a 'Grammy' with the other performers. Another was Christina Perri's 'A Thousand Years,' which later become a top pick for wedding ceremonies. 
 
Steve's most prominent and recognized theater project has been 'Once,' a musical based on the 2007 film of the same name by John Carney. The play featured him as an Irish guitarist named ‘Guy’ who falls in love with a Czech piano player. Steve played the character first in its ‘Off-Broadway’ version that opened at the 'New York Theatre Workshop' on December 6, 2011. The ‘Broadway’ revival of 'Once' was previewed on February 28, 2012, and later opened on March 18, 2012, at the 'Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre.' In 2019, Steve was seen as ‘Frank’ in the ninth episode of the 'AMC' post-apocalyptic horror 'The Walking Dead,’ titled 'Adaptation.' He was featured in the song 'A Thousand Years, Pt. 2' by Christina Perri. The song was later used as part of the soundtrack of 'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2.'
