Born as Steven James Anderson, he is a professional wrestler, host, actor, and media personality. He is one of the most influential and most profitable wrestlers of all-time. He was the biggest star in the history of WWE/WWF after Hulk Hogan. He introduced the ‘What?’ chant which is very popular among professional wrestling fans.
He attended Edna High School and got a football scholarship to study at Wharton County Junior College. Further, he got a scholarship at the University of North Texas. After college, he decided to become a wrestler and joined Chris Adams’ school at the Dallas Sportatorium. He took part in the United States Wrestling Association, which he left in 1990. Later, he signed into World Championship Wrestling in 1991. Following his debut, he soon defeated Bobby Eaton to win his first WCW World Television Championship in June 1991. He also joined the ‘Dangerous Alliance’ led by Paul E Dangerously. He teamed up with Steve Williams to win the unified WCW and NWA World Tag Team Championship titles in October 1992. He joined Brian Pillman to form ‘The Hollywood Blonds’ in January 1993 and won the tag team titles. After the team fell apart, he faced Dustin Rhodes to lift the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship. He returned after a short break in 1995, following which he was fired by Eric Bischoff, Vice President of WCW. Later, he was associated with Extreme Championship Wrestling, where he built in ‘Stone Cold’ persona and was known as ‘Superstar’.
In January 1996, Steve Austin made his debut on World Wrestling Federation on the episode of Raw, where he defeated Matt Hardy. He was given the Million Dollar Championship award by Ted DiBiase. He gained prominence after winning the King of the Ring pay-per-view title in 1996. His finishing maneuver ‘Stone Cold Stunner’ became very popular too.
Steve Austin also appeared in several film roles including The Longest Yard, The Condemned, Grown Ups 2, and The Expendables. He released a weekly podcast titled The Steve Austin How in April 2013. He hosted the television reality competition ‘Redneck Island’. In 2011, he returned to World Wrestling Entertainment as a host of the reality series titled, ‘Tough Enough’.
Steve Austin has held about 19 championships in his wrestling career including 6 time WWF Champion, 4 times WWF Tag Team Champion, 2-time Intercontinental Champion- thus becoming the only fifth Triple Crown Champion in the history of World Wrestling Entertainment. He won the King of the Ring pay-per-view in 1996. He is the only wrestler to have won Royal Rumble three times, the feat he achieved by winning in 1997, 1998, and 2001. Steve Austin was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame by Vince McMahon in 2009.
He was named the Most Popular Wrestler of the Year in 1998 by Pro Wrestling Illustrated and was named at the Top position in the magazine’s Top 500 singles wrestlers in 1998 and 1999.

He is married to Kristin Austin since 2009. Previously, he was married three times with Kathryn Burrhus (1990-1992), Lady Blossom (1992-1999), and Debra McMichael (2000-2003). He has four daughters named Jade Adams, Cassidy Williams, Stephanie Williams, and Loren Williams by his 2nd wife Lady Blossom. He was trained by Chris Adams (Wrestler/Wrestler Coach).
