Tia is a model, singer, actress, and winner of the Grammy award. She is known through roles in the Wayne's World and Wayne's World 2 movies and the Relic Hunter adventure TV series. When she was 12 years old, her parents and even her two sisters began working in Samoa, Carrere lived in Honolulu with her grandmother. 
 
She took the stage name Tia Carrere in 1984. Tia is an abbreviation of her true name Althea, borrowing from the actress Barbara Carrera the last name Carrere. Soon after she was finally discovered as an actress and started playing her first film role, she moved to Los Angeles as the holder of a Screen Actors Guild membership card. In 1992, People Magazine listed her on the 50 Most Beautiful People list, and in 1995 and 2001, FHM ranked her among the " 100 sexiest women. " " The pictures were printed in the issue of January 2003, the cover of which also engraved them. She was thrilled with her, so she played Lani 's role in the Greco Aloha Summer film. In 1985, she took part in the General Hospital soap opera, where she continued to do acting from 1985-87. 
 
She also played a guest appearance in the A-Team action series during this time. She starred at Vietnam's Airwolf, MacGyver, Back to the Past, A Terrible Family, Crypt Stories and NAM service. " In 1992, she became widely known to the audience for her role as rock singer " Cassandra Wong " in the hit comedy Wayne's World, which she featured the following year in the sequel to Wayne's World 2. In 1995, she played one of the leading roles in The Daedalus Encounter interactive CD - ROM game. She met Daniel Ho there, with whom she would win Grammy later. They formed a band covering Black Sabbath and AC / DC songs with Carrere as lead singer. She also earns her musical ability to her key role in Wayne's World film comedy, which led her to the major breakthrough as an actress. She now had the chance to show her musical skills in this film and took over the vocal parts of the film itself.
 
She also contributed three songs to the film's soundtrack, which was later awarded double platinum. " Several years went by before she came back to music and recorded her second album with her childhood friend Daniel Ho, released in June 2007 in North America. She remained loyal to her homeland under the title " Hawaiian " and joined the band in 2008, and also nominated for the 2008 Grammy Awards for Best Hawaiian Music Album. In 2011, she received a Grammy award for Huana Ke Aloha in the category of " Best Hawaiian Music Album. " In 2006, Tia and dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy took part in the dance show Dancing with the Stars on ABC. In 2009, she hosted the 51st Grammy Awards with Wayne Brady.
