Vikas Khanna Complete Bio & Career

Vikas Khanna was born in Amritsar and from a very age, he developed an interest in cooking. From an early age, he decided that he will build a professional career in this field only. He was born with a misaligned legs and feet and got it fixed when he was 13. He to pursue his interest in cooking started learning to cook dishes from his grandmother. He obtained his graduate degree in Hotel Management from Welcomgroup Graduate School of Hotel Administration. He after the completion of his graduation established an event called Saanch.
 
He began his professional career by joining Leela Group of Hotels and then eventually worked with the Welcome group, and Taj Group of Hotels. After working at various places, he finally started his own restaurant called Junoon in New York in the year 2010. The restaurant has received various positive reviews and has been felicitated with Michelin Star for 6 consecutive years.   
 
He is known as a well-known cookbook author and has penned down some of the most exclusive cooking books that world have ever witnessed. Among all the books that he has penned down some of the books which received worldwide recognition include Modern Indian Cooking, Savour Mumbai, World Feast - My Favourite Kitchen, and "Shaken & Stirred- A Non-Alcoholic Drinks Book" among others. He rose to stardom after he penned down a 1200 page book called "UTSAV- A Culinary Epic of Indian Festivals". The book is among the most expensive books written ever as it costs INR 8 lakhs per copy. The book weighs 16kg. The book has been penned with gold ink. He gifted the copies of his books to personalities like Dalai Lama, Indian PM Narendra Modi, and Hillary Clinton. 
 
He has hosted a range of cook shows. Since 2nd season, he has been hosting MasterChef India. He also hosted Twist of Taste for four seasons and also appeared as a guest judge on MasterChef Australia. He has also made his appearance on the famous show called Nokia Lumia: Your Wish Is My App. In addition to the small screen, he has also appeared in the documentary film series of Holy Kitchens. 
 
He has worked for various fundraising events and has established his own foundation called “SAKIV” (South Asian Kid's Infinite Vision). He has also been appointed as the Goodwill Ambassador of a foundation called Smile Foundation and has raised about 1milion USD for the organization.
