Vishnu Digambar Paluskar was born on 18th August 1872. He was an Indian musician. He sang the actual genre of the bhajan Raghupati Raghava Raja Ram.

Vishnu Digambar Paluskar had to discontinue his studies due to an accident which grandiose his eyesight and so he registered himself to the study of music. Under the backing of the Chief of Miraj, he studied the art under the late Pandit Balkrishnabuwa Ichalkarnjikar. After 12 years of music study at Miraj, Vishnu Digambar, he toured all across the nation, and after visiting Lahore he decided to make it his Work Place.

Afterwards, he launched his Gandharva Mahavidyalaya in 1901. In those days Musicians and were not held in high admiration in society, but Vishnu Digambar was able to banish the widespread partiality by his own personal example. He realized that all great art had to draw its individuality from modern-day life and bereft of its social merit. It was like discovery and a rebel both in his outlook and methods. A system of twirling was invented by him for the Indian Music, and he subsequently published a huge number of text books for the Gandharva Mahavidyalaya.

He used to participate in the Sessions of the Indian National Congress and awaken the crowd by the power of his musical charm.

He mastered the art of devotional music and gave to the Bhajan "Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram", its current musical content.
