Ashfaq Ahmed Complete Bio & Career
Ashfaq Ahmed was felicitated with Sitara-i-Imtiaz and President's Pride of Performance award for commendable work in the field of literature and broadcasting.
He finished his early education in his local district in India just before independence in 1947. After Independence, he relocated to Pakistan and made the Punjab’s chief town, Lahore as his habitat. He completed his Post Graduation in Literature (Urdu) from Government College, Lahore.
He got employed in Radio Azad Kashmir, which was founded on a truck that used to drive around in many areas of Kashmir. He then shifted his job as a lecturer at Dayal Singh College, Lahore for two years. Thereafter, he went to Rome, Italy, to join Radio Rome as an Urdu Newscaster. He also served as a lecturer at Rome University and taught Urdu.
Apart from his personality as a great author of splendid and majestic books, Ashfaq Ahmed, in the later stage of his life, was biased towards Sufism, which was visibly demonstrated in most of his works. He married his classmate from Government College in Lahore and a famous novelist Bano Qudsia.

On 7 September 2004, Ashfaq Ahmed died in Lahore, Pakistan. He was suffering from pancreatic cancer.
