Mark Wood Complete Bio & Career

Mark Wood is just 6ft tall and is pretty much a hit-the-deck bowler. He gets movement, but usually he beats the batsman for his pace. The right-arm quick can generate good pace and bowl consistently at 140kph or above. 
 
Wood's consistent performances earned him place in the England Test side during the 2015 series against New Zealand. In his first four games, Wood claimed 14 wickets and his work rate was horsemen like, but still he was overlooked for the third Ashes Test, Steven Finn replaced him. However, due to his raw pace and accuracy, Wood continued to be in the selectors' radar. 
 
He had his share of injuries and has missed out on a lot of action. He though had a great outing to the built up just before the ICC World Cup 2019. He impressed everyone with his pace and accuracy and was therefore included in the World Cup Squad. He can be the main lynch pin in their bowling attack as he can consistently clock over 140ks and is also a wicket taking bowler.
 
He had his stint in the IPL as well where he was signed by Chennai Super Kings. He was bought at the 2018 IPL player auctions and after a forgettable outing where he leaked 49 runs of his quota of 4 overs. He though got injured in that season and was replaced by South African speedster Lungi Ngidi. He was not retained by CSK for the 2019 season.
