Nadira Babbar Complete Bio & Career

Nadira Babbar was born as Nadira Zaheer. She was brought up in a family which was associated with theatre. To pursue a career in theatre and acting, she enrolled at the NSD ( National School of Drama ), Delhi. She was the top student of her batch and besides winning Gold Medal, she was also awarded the scholarship to go to Germany. She eventually got the chance to work with noted International directors like Peter Brooks and Grotovisky. 
 
Returning to India, she started her own theatre group called Ekjute in Delhi in the year 1981. Her production house released the first play titled  Yahudi Ki Ladki the very same year. The play was highly acclaimed. After producing various plays and garnering a lot of acclaims, she came to Mumbai and started establishing her theatre group in Mumbai. Today the theatre group is on the verge of completing almost 4 decades and has produced over 60 plays. Some of the noted plays include Look Back in Anger, Baat Laat Ki Halaat Ki, and Sandhya Chhaya among various others. In addition to producing, she has also directed numerous plays as well. Veteran actors like Satish Kaushik, Kirron Kher, and Raj Babbar have also acted in her directed plays. 
 
In addition to theatre, she has also acted in some Bollywood film as well. She made her acting debut by playing Aishwarya Rai’s mothers role in the film called Bride and Prejudice in the year 2004. She was recently seen in films like Jai Ho and Ghayal Once Again.

She is married to noted actor Raj Babbar and together the couple is blessed with a daughter named Juhi Babbar and a son named Arya Babbar. Bollywood actor Prateik Babbar is her Stepson & actor Anup Soni is her Son-in-law.
