Rhea Kapoor was born to veteran actor Anil Kapoor and Sunita Kapoor. Actress Sonam Kapoor is her elder sister and actor Harshvardhan is her elder brother. Filmmaker Surinder Kapoor was her grandfather. She is the niece of Producer Boney Kapoor, Sanjay Kapoor, Sridevi and Mona Shourie Kapoor. Actors Arjun Kapoor and Mohit Marwah are her cousin brothers.
She started her cinematic career by producing chick flick Aisha in 2010. The film had her sister Sonam and Abhay Deol in lead roles. The film declared a sleeper hit at the box-office. Her next release came four years later in Khoobsurat. This film also had her sister Sonam in the lead role along with Pakistani actor Fawad Khan. The film was declared a hit and it was inspired by Hrishikesh Mukherjee's blockbuster film Khoobsurat in 1970. 2017 might be her year as two of her films are yet to be released in 2017. The film titled Veere Di Wedding is in post-production stage and the star cast of the film consists of Kareena Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania.
In addition to producing, Veere Di Wedding will also mark her debut as a director and a scriptwriter.
