Great Indian Philosopher, Scholar and Politician Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan were born on 5th September 1888 in Thiruttani in Madras Province, British India. His philosophies and preaching made a huge impact worldwide. His birth anniversary 5th September is celebrated as Teachers day in India.

Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Complete Bio & Career

Born in a Telegu Brahmin family to Sarvepalli Veeraswami and Sitamma, Sarvepalli grew up in Tirupati and Tirupati. He took his primary education in Tirupati. Sarvepalli then joined Voorhees College in Vellore but soon quit it and joined Madras Christian College where he completed his graduation with Master Degree in Philosophy. He did not want to master in Philosophy but out of chance, he took Philosophy. Sarvepalli always got Scholarships in his entire education.
 
Sarvepalli wrote a thesis on M.A degree when he was just 20. Sarvepalli then started his professional career by joining at Philosophy department in Madras Presidency College as a Professor in 1909. A few years later in 1918, he relocated to University of Mysore. He continued writing Journals, Books etc. Sarvepalli believed very much in Rabindranath Tagore’s Philosophy. Sarvepalli had the privilege to serve a term at prestigious Oxford University. 
 
Apart from being a Professor, Sarvepalli was also a noted statesman. He started his Political career in 1931 by getting designated to the League of Nations Committee for International Cooperation. He was India’s Ambassador to the Soviet Union. Radha Krishna was elected as the 1st Vice President of Independent India in 1952 and 10 years later advanced as the President of India and served his term from 1962 to 1967.
