Satpal Maharaj Complete Bio & Career
Satpal Maharaj's actual name is Satpal Singh Rawat. He was born to a spiritual father and hence inherited almost all of his father's quality. He graduated from St. George's College in Mussorie. Soon he entered politics and took part in various political activities from a very young age. When H D Deve Gowda was the Prime Minister of India, he put the proposal of forming a new state of Uttarakhand. Finally when Atal Bihari Vajpayee came in the power the new state got recognition. He played a pivotal role in formation of the state.
In addition to that, when he was the Union Minister in 1996, he inuagrated the Rishikesh to Karnprayag Rail Line. It were his efforts after which the Garhwali & Kumaoni languages were included in the 8th schedule of constitution of India. He is constantly trying to bring "Protein Revolution" in India & Uttarakhand. Over the years, he has headed various padyatras not just in India but globally as well to address various social issues. He contested for the first time in 2004 general elections but the attempt was unsuccessful. He won the byelcetions from Pauri Garhwal constituency in 2008. In 2009 general elections, he was re-elected to Lok Sabha and this time from Garhwal constituency. In 2017, Uttarakhand state elections, he became an MLA from Chaubattakhal constituency with a margin of 7354 votes. He is currently National Executive Member of BJP.
