Dr. Shankar Dayal Sharma was born on August 19, 1918, in a small state of Madhya Pradesh. He was a famous lawyer and a politician during the reign of 1992 to 1997.

Dr. Shankar Dayal Sharma started with his higher education in the state of Agra and then he went to the University of Cambridge from where he earned a doctorate degree in law.
He joined the Indian National Congress in the year 1940 because of which he was imprisoned for 8 months. He was invited to many political offices from where he gained a lot of recognition. In the year 1971, he was elected in the Lok Sabha which was his maiden innings in the parliament. In the very next year, he was made the President of the Indian National Congress.
He was also appointed in Andhra Pradesh, Punjab, and Maharashtra as their governor and he also became the Vice President in 1987 and he finally got the President Post in the year 1992. He was married to two women. He was very much interested in extracurricular activities and he did a lot of social services as well.
Shankar Dayal Sharma suffered a massive heart attack and was admitted to a hospital in New Delhi. He died on 26-12-1999 in New Delhi, India at the age of 81.
