Abi Mehdi Hassan was born to a legendary actor Nassar. At a very young age, he decided to become an actor and thus joined Blue Ocean Film and Television Academy (BOFTA), Chennai. He meanwhile did a child actor's role in his father's film Sun Sun Thatha in the year 2012. After graduationg from BOFTA, he started assisting veteran directot Atlee. He assisted him in his project Mersal.
He finally made his acting debut through Rajesh Selva's action thriller film Kadaram Kondan in the year 2019. He played the role of Akshara Haasan. The film was a huge hit and he too has been praised for his performance in this film.
