Rashid made his debutant from the daily soap opera with the show "Kahiin To Hoga-2006" in which he played the character of "Kartik Ahluwalia." He appeared in another show Aise Karo Naa Vidaa" as a supporting actor. However, the turning point of his career when he played the historical character of "Prithviraj Chauhan" in the show "Dharti Ka Veer Yodha Prithviraj Chauhan" on Star Plus.
This was the breakthrough to obtain popularity and fame. Diya Aur Baati Hum was the career launcher show of his career which made him star personality and popular face of daily soap opera. He played the character of Sooraj Rathi which was highly praised, and Tv audience loved this show for five years the day show got off aired. His show “Diya Aur Baati Hum” became the “highest-rated” (Indian television) show. His performance and acting skills on daily soaps gained mass recognition and many accolades. Rashid is also the cousin of the actors "Ather Habib and Mohammad Nazim."
