Anastacia Complete Bio & Career
At a very young age, she developed a keen interest in dance. Engagements as a dancer she received in 1988 for the music videos to Everybody Get Up and Twist and Shout of Salt 'n' Pepa and later on Club MTV. Anastasia began training as a hairdresser and worked as a studio singer for artists like Jamie Foxx and Omar Sosa.
In 1998, she took part in the vocal competition “The Cut of the TV station” MTV and made it to the final round. Although she did not win the trophy, her appearance left such a strong impression that Major Labels wanted to sign her as well. She chose Daylight Records, a sub-label of Sony Music's Epic Records. In 2000, she appeared with Not That Kind her first studio album. Not least thanks to the top ten hit I am Outta Love, the album climbed to first place in the album charts in Australia, Netherlands as well as in Switzerland and sold more than five million copies worldwide. In November 2001, she followed by Freak of Nature, the second album. It surpassed with seven million copies sold the success of the debut album, took first place in Germany and produced with the first two out couples Paid My Dues and One Day in Your Life 2 more German top ten hits.
In autumn 2004, she performed her first major European tour Live at Last. She played in many countries in sold-out venues, including in Germany, which meant that the tour was extended in the spring and summer of 2005 by a few concerts. In the fall of 2005, she released her first greatest hit album, Pieces of a Dream, including Top 20's hit Everything Burns (featuring Ben Moody) and the title song. The third single release I Belong to You (Il Ritmo Della Passione), a duet with the Italian singer Eros Ramazzotti, became the first number one hit of the two artists in Germany. On November 9, 2012, Anastacia published with It's a Man's World, a cover album. Then she covered, among others, rock classics Led Zeppelin, AC / DC, Guns N 'Roses and the Foo Fighters.
In December 2012, she was on tour with Night of the Proms. On April 4, 2014, the singer released with Stupid Little Things, the first single from her next studio album Resurrection, which was published in May 2014. This video song was shot on Jan 2014 in California and Nevada which was Directed by Marcus Sternberg.
