After the birth of Arjun Mathur, his family moved from London to Delhi and after returning back to India. He started his schooling from Delhi St. Columba's School, and later on when his father shifted to Mumbai with the whole family. Then he enrolled in the St. Mary's School Mumbai after few years he again shifted to New Delhi where he attended “The British School” from where he finished his school studies. When he finished his school, he went to Uk for getting his degree from where he studied at Oaklands College, St Albans, UK. After obtaining the degree he joined the renowned films learning institute Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in the N-York US.
His first job in Bollywood as an assistant for the films such as Mangal Pandey: The Rising, Bunty Aur Babli, Kyun! Ho Gaya Na... and Rang De Basanti. Despite that, he offered a small role of Sumi in the film Kyun! Ho Gaya Na... In the next year in 2006, he appeared in the John Jeffcoat, directed film Outsourced. This film has had a great successful film and won the numbers of various prestigious awards at the different awards events held in India and outside India. After doing some low budget films, he then grabbed the chances to work in the big banner films such as Luck by Chance and SRK starring hit film My Name Is Khan in which he had a minimal role of Raj. But in the following time, he could not get succeed to get the lead roles in the films and he appeared in some of the short commercial films such as I Am, My Friend Pinto, Fireflies and Bhoomi which is directed by the ace director Omang Kumar. He was seen in web series Made in Heaven in 2019 and played the role of a homosexual guy.
Then finally, he got his first film as a lead hero was 2014 released film Coffee Bloom in which he played the character of Dev Anand Cariappa opposite Sugandha Garg. Apart from the films he also appeared in the Tv commercials such as Axis Bank and Airtel3G ad with the Bollywood actress Aditi Rao Hydari.
