Arun Matheswaran was born and grew up in a Hindu family in Chennai. He completed his Bachelor of Mass Communication (BMC) degree at St. Xavier's College of Management and Technology.
He made his acting debut in the Tamil film 'Settai' in 2013 opposite Arya, Anjali, Hansika Motwani, Santhanam, and others. He also assist director Thiagarajan Kumararaja in several movies. He wrote the diloge for Irudhi Suttru's film Irudhi Suttru in 2016. He made his directorial debut through the Tamil action thriller film 'Rocky' in 2021 with lead actor asanth Ravi. The film was produced by C. R. Manoj Kumar, went superhit at the box office.
In 2022, he made the Tamil film 'Saani Kaayidham' with star cast Keerthy Suresh, Selvaraghavan, Kanna Ravi, and others. His film again went superhit at the box office. After brake of two years, he made the Tamil film 'Captain Miller' in 2024 with star cast Dhanush, Nivedhithaa Sathish, Priyanka Mohan, Sundeep Kishan, Shiva Rajkumar, Nassar, and others. Captain Miller also went superhit at the box office. After continuesly gaving three hits to the Tamil cinema, he is working on his upcoming film titled 'DC'.
