B. M. Idinabba was born on 17-09-1920 in Uppinangady in the state of Karnataka, India. He was an Indian Poet, Journalist, Freedom Fighter, Politician, Activist & Novelist.

B. M. Idinabba finished his schooling from Puttur, and he did not attend the college because he was willing to join politics. In 1934, he started his career from (Dakshina-Kannada -Krishikara- Sahakari -Maarata -Sangha) he served there for 34 years and retired from the Sangha in the year 1978. Later in his life, he joined the “INC" (Indian national congress), and he elected as the MLA from Ullal for the three terms such as first he chose in 1967, second terms was-1985 and third term in 1989. He also inclined writing in his life he had written and though published six-stories, six- novels,two-children literature, and six-poems. Between 1970 and 82, he remained as the president of (Dakshina -Kannada -Zilla-Sahitya-Parishat). For 12 years, he served as the Exec Committee member of (Bangalore Kendra Kannada) Sahitya Parishat. He served as the member of (Karnataka Sahitya Academy).
 
In 1988, he addressed at the (Akhila- Bharatha -Beary- Sahitya-Sammelana) in Dakshina-Kannada for the First time. He appointed as the president of KDA (Kannada Development Authority) which would be the last one political appointment by B. M. Idinabba, and he worked for the development of (Kannada-language) and also for the Kannadigas. His wished to make the Kannada would be the symbol of direction for Madrasas in the Karnataka. He died at the age of 88 on 11 Apr 2009 due to many disorders in his body considering the old age in his hometown Ullal.
