Bhanu Sri Mehra was born in Amritsar and finished her schooling from Dehradun. She then relocated to Mumbai for higher studies. It was during this time that she decided to try her luck in modeling and acting. She soon started appearing as a print model for various brands. She finally made her acting debut through Bollywood film Bachna Ae Haseeno in the year 2008. She though did a minute role but still got noticed.
A couple of years later, she made her debut as a lead actress in Telugu film Varudu. She was cast opposite veteran Telugu actor Allu Arjun. Even after so much hype around the film it still failed to perform at the box-office. The following year in 2011, she made her Tamil film debut through the film titled Udhayan. She played a supporting role in this film. In 2013, she made her Punjabi film debut through the film titled Fer Mamla Gadbad Gadbad. The film however boomed at the box-office. She though made ammends with her next Punjabi film Oh My Pyo in which she was cast alongside legendary Punjabi film actor Binnu Dhillon. Since 2014, she has worked mostly in Telugu films such as Brother of Bommali, Govindudu Andarivadele, and Ala Ela. She was recently seen in Tamil film Simba which released in the year 2019. She has also worked in a Kannada film Deal Raja in the year 2016.
