Bhuvaneswari is a popular name in the South Indian film and television industry. Born in 1975 in Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh, she is a B-Grade actress who is particularly known for her role of a prostitute in a Tamil film named Boys. Bhuvaneshwari began her career as a model. She first appeared on screen in 2000 in the film Kandha Kadamba Kathirvela in a side role. Her first lead role was in film Kurkure in 2008. She is popularly called as 'Snake Beauty' because of her voluptuous figure and bold on-screen attitude. She is also called Poonai Kan, because of her cat-like eyes.  Her bold scenes have won hearts of many people.
 
Bhuvaneswari studied B.Com from Rani Anna College for Women in Tirunelveli and joined South Indian Cinema. Her first assignment was a model in the ad of a textile firm, based in Chennai. That got her some recognition and she started doing small roles in TV serials and films. In 2002, she got embroiled in a controversy. Considering a prostitute, police arrested her. When she came out on bail, her husband divorced her and took their child with him.
 
She was cast in Shankar's Boys which became the best performance of her career. It is said she used real-life experiences to perform the role flawlessly. After the film, she did minor sexy roles in various other movies. Apart from her on-screen performance, she also entertained high profile clients by running a brothel at her house. She was arrested twice but was acquitted. Presently she is under arrest at Puzhal Central Prison in Chennai for one of her other crimes.
