Bret Hart Complete Bio & Career

Bret Hart is a popular Canadian-American former professional wrestler, actor, and writer, best known by his ring name Bret ‘The Hitman’ Hart. He was born in the Hart family which is well-known for its wrestling legacy.
 
He got into amateur wrestling during his study at Ernest Manning High School. He attended Mount Royal College to study filmmaking, where he was also a collegiate champion. However, he later turned to making a career in professional wrestling. He trained at his father’s Stampede Wrestling and later combated against prominent fighters from around the world.
 
His WWF debut was in a tag team match alongside Dynamite Kid in August 1984. In his singles debut match, he defeated Aldo Marino. He became the part of ‘The Hart Foundation’ and was titled as Bret ‘Hit Man’ Hart.  He won his first WWF World Heavyweight Championship from Ric Flair at Superstars main event. His popular finishing and signature moves were ‘Sharpshooter’, ‘Bulldog’, and ‘Spike Piledriver’. He has been in several ‘Feud of the Year’ and ‘Match of the Year’ contests.
 
He is regarded as one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time. He has been regarded as an icon or an inspiration by a lot of modern-day professional wrestlers including Kurt Angle, Storm, Sami Zayn, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins. He was voted as the Greatest Wrestler of 1993 and 1994 by the readers of Pro Wrestling Illustrated. He was also named as the ‘Most Inspirational Wrestler of the Year’ in 1994. He has been widely considered as the ‘Top Submission Specialist’ in the history of WWE. His signature move ‘Sharpshooter’ has been named as the most destructive submission hold in the history of professional wrestling. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame by Steve Austin. He is also a founder and part-owner of the Western Hockey League team ‘Calgary Hitmen’.
