Brian McKnight, one of the few leggiero tenors in the pop genre, is an American producer, musician, singer, and songwriter. He can play eight instruments to perfection including piano, guitar, bass guitar, percussion, trombone, tuba, flugelhorn, and trumpet. Born in Buffalo, New York, his career began when he joined his church choir at a very small age. Raised as a Seventh-Day Adventist, he attended the Emmanuel Temple and Oakwood College (University).
He signed his first record deal with Mercury Records subsidiary, Wing Records at the age of 19. Brian McKnight, his self -titled debut album, was released in 1992 featuring the ballad “One Last Cry” and was an instant Billboard 200 chart scorer. In 1998 he signed the Motown Records and released the album Bethlehem. In 1999, he released “Back at One” which is one of the four albums to reach top 10 of the Billboard 200 chart. “I remember you”, “Anytime”, “Back at One”, “Superhero”, “U-turn”, “Gemini”, “Ten”, Christmas album “I’ll be home for Christmas”, “Evolution of a Man” and “Better” are some of his studio works that people have loved and cherished. His first CD, DVD, and Blue-Ray series was released in 2016, titled “An Evening with” in partnership with the SoNo Recording group.
