Chaithra Kotoor was born and raised in a small village near Mangalore. After her school education, she relocated to Mangalore for higher studies. During her college days, she started writing and decided to become a noted writer one day. After her education, she relocated to Bangalore and started working on writing the script for a Kannada television series. She finally grabbed a role in Kannada film Soojidara in which she played a supporting role. The film was released in May 2019 and she was cast alongside Hariprriya and Yashwanth Shetty in this film. In addition to acting, she also wrote the lyrics of this film's song titled "Hunnime Raathriyali". In 2019, she participated in the reality show Bigg Boss Kannada season 7.
