Dadaaheb Phalke is a famous Indian producer, writer as well as director who is also known as The Father of Indian Cinema. He started his film debut from is famous film “Raja Hirishchandra” in 1913. He made 95 movies and 26 short films in 19 years till 1937. The Government of India has been grateful him by instituting The Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 1969, for lifespan involvement to the cinema, which is one of most impressive awards in Indian cinema conferred film personalities in the country and is the uppermost official appreciation. He was well known as he brought the first camera from Germany. The encouragement for the film came from Dadasaheb Phalke.

He promoted his films as: "A presentation with 57,000 photographs. Raja Harishchandra unconfined in Mumbai's Coronation Theatre and ran for 23 days. It was also exposed in London in 1914. The story of Harishchandra was not present the matter of Dadasaheb's 1913 film but also of the first Marathi talkie, V Shantaram's Ayodhyecha Raja.
