The American composer, David is well recognized for the film scores achieved in his career time. In the time period of 40 years, he has composed brilliant songs for over 100 movies. He began his career with the movie titled Frankenweenie in the year 1984. This is a short movie directed by Tim Burton. Consecutively, he got a chance to work with the movie team of Throw Momma from the Train of Danny DeVito. As a matter of fact, this movie tends to be his first collaboration with DeVito. Later, their bonding continued to be stronger and worked together for the series of movies known as The War of the Roses in 1989, Hoffa in 1992, Death to Smoochy in 2002, Other People’s Money in 1991, and Matilda in 1996.
 
Additionally, his contributions to the comedy based movies include The Flintstones in 1994, The Nutty Professor in 1996, The Mighty Ducks in 1992, and Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventures. Most prominently, he has also worked for the animated movie known as Anastasia in the year 1997 for which he received the Academy Award nomination. Later, in 2007, he was selected to be the president of the organization – The Film Music Society. Moreover, he also serves as the member as well as the alumnus of the American Youth Symphony.
