Born on 2 April, she is widely known as an actress. She made her debut on the same screen with the serial titled, Hum Log in the 1980s. She played the role of Majhli in the serial. She has also done numerous shows, films, and theatre with Barry John.
In 1988, she did a serial named, Dil Dariya which was aired on Doordarshan. Her next serial was named, Dekh Bhai Dekh in 1993 in which she performed as Priya. She also featured in a serial titled, Daraar as Priya. The serial was aired on a channel named, Zee TV. In 1995, she did a serial named, Banegi Apni Baat in which she essayed the role of Nikita. Next, she worked in serial, Abhimaan. In 2005, she was seen in Sarkarr: Rishton ki Ankahi Kahani as Priyamvada Vir Pratap Singh. She appeared as Dr. Vasundra Singh in serial, Ek Nayi Ummeed- Roshni in 2015.
Besides this she also did films. she played as Aditya’s mother in the movie, Jab We Met along with Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor. Her next film was English Vinglish with legendary actress, Sridevi. She also appeared in the movie, Dil Dhadakne Do as Saira Hashmi. In 2017, she did a movie named, Patel Ki Punjabi Shaadi. Her next movie was titled, The Accidental Prime Minister- Gursharan Kaur in 2019.
