Elvis Presley Complete Bio & Career
Presley completed his study from East Tupelo Consolidated where he was considered as "average". He was encouraged to take part in music competitions by his music teacher who was impressed with his rendition of Red Foley's country song "Old Shep" during morning prayers.
In 1954, he started his musical career with producer Sam Phillips and recorded at Sun Records. He was accompanied by lead guitarist Scotty Moore along with the bassist Bill Black. His first RCA single which was "Heartbreak Hotel" got released in the first month of 1956. The song was numbered top hit in America. With his continuous success, he became the leading personality of soundtrack Rock N Roll.
In 1956, he made his debut as an actor with the film ‘Love Me Tender’. This film was based on western music. After it, he never looked back and worked in dozens of films. Almost every film of him hit the billboard.
Some popular films of his career are Jailhouse Rock, Blue Hawaii, G. I. Blues, Follow that dream, Change of habit, Viva Las Vegas, Roustabout, Fun in Acapulco, Charro, Girl Happy, Harum Scarum, Loving U, Tickle Me, and many more.
In march 1958 he joined the U.S. Army as a soldier of lowest army rank. As he stepped at the fort the crowd of civilians and photographers gathered there. Presley requested to treat him like other soldiers of the army. In October, he joined the 3rd Armored Division in Friedberg, Germany.
In 1960, he was discharged from the army with the rank of a sergeant. After returning, he released his new single track Stuck On You which hit to no. 1. After it, he gave back to back hits like "It's Now or Never", "Are You Lonesome Tonight?", Something for Everybody.
