Ewan McGregor started his stint with acting from an early age. However, he loved singing more and soon became a soloist with his school's choir and orchestra. After completion of his high school, he enrolled at the Perth Repertory Theater. Simultaneously he continued his education and honed his acting and music skills by training at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama for three long years. He finally landed onto do a major role in Dennis Potter's British television musical comedy titled Lipstick on Your Collar in the year 1993.
The very same year he also starred in a short-lived British miniseries called The Scarlet & The Black. This series was adapted from Henri Beyle Stendhal's 1830 novel. That year was not done yet as he also made film debut that year through Bill Forsyth's American film called Being Human. He was cast alongside Robin Williams in this film.
For his movie called Trainspotting which was directed by veteran director Danny Boyle, he went through a lot of transition as he had to shed some 30lbs and also had to shave off his head to play the main lead of a heroin addict named Mark Renton. This film was widely praised and also won him an Empire Award as well.
Following the success of Trainspotting, McGregor did a range of roles and his role asFrank Churchill in the iconic comedy film Emma is still remembered. Ewan McGregor finally launched his own production company named Natural Nylon and produced some film under his banner. Besides acting in films, he has also appeared on various soundtracks as a singer. He has also sung two duet songs with veteran actress Nicole Kidman on the Moulin Rouge!.
Since youth, he was a motorcyclist and after doing some theatre roles in the early 2000s, he took a break and went on a marathon international bike trip in the year 2004. In his adventure BMW motorbike, he traveled a distance of around 36,000-kilometers. In this trip, he also visited various UNICEF Programs and also formed a story for a best-selling book and a television series called Long Way Round.
