Gajendra Chauhan Complete Bio & Career

Gajendra Singh Chauhan was born on 10 October 1956. He is an actor by profession. He completed his studies from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences. Side by side he started learning acting skills from Roshan Taneja who previously taught at FTII. He made his debut in an acting career in 1983 with the movie named, Paying Guest. Along with films, he did television shows as well.
 
The shows in which he acted are Air Hostess, Adalat, and Rajni. In 1986 his film titled, Main Chup Nahi Rahoongi was released. He has a lot of Cameo Roles to his credit also. Initially, he got selected for playing the role of Lord Krishna in the television industry. He also acted in its two episodes. But as the shooting delayed, he took up the new project in the south. When he returned, he was unfit for the role due to his overweight. He rose to fame with his role of Yudhishthira in the serial named, Mahabharat. He also served as the president of the organization named, Cinema and Television Artists Association. He worked in the organization for about 20 years.
 
He decided to pursue politics and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in 2004. His work was the national convener for culture. Film and Television Institute of India selected him as its president on 9 June 2015. Unfortunately, he could not thrive on the post for long as some students objected to it. Politicians like Paresh Rawal, Hema Malini, Shatrughan Sinha, and Paintal came forward in his support. Unable to convince students, he resigned from the post in October 2017.
