Gervonta “Tank” Davis is arguably one of the best professional boxer currently and the current World Boxing Association Super Featherweight Champion. He was raised in Baltimore, Maryland. When he was just 5 years old, he was involved in an altercation in neighbourhood. His family realised that he is going on a negative path and to prevent him from doing so his uncles Edwin Hanks and James Walker brought him to Upton Boxing Gym in Baltimore. One of his coaches started calling him “Tank” as his head was oversized in comparison to his body. As a young fighter, he worked immensely on his boxing skills and started crushing his opponents with ease.  
 
He started traveling for amateur boxing tournaments from the age of 14. He hardly got defeated and won most of his bouts. In the next 2 years, he won PAL (Police Athletic League Tournament), and Ringside World Championships twice. He also won several other tournaments and then requested to allow him to compete in professional tournaments. Finally at the age of 18, he turned professional boxer and defeated America’s Desi Williams in his debut match.
 
In 2015, he inked a deal with Mayweather Promotions. He has epitomized nothing but determination and hard work and that helped him gain confidence in himself. He currently holds a record of 22-0 with 21 KO’s. He has garnered a huge fan base worldwide by delivering knockout performances. He is young and is hungry for every opportunity that he is provided with. He is thriving to capture world titles and thereby securing his finances so that he can achieve stability in order to take care of himself and his family. He also thinks that it will motivate young people from similar backgrounds to never give up and believe in their dreams.
