Ghanashyam Nayak initiated his career as an actor in 1960 when he appeared in "Masoom" film as a child artist. The movie was directed by Satyen Bose. It was the beginning of his career, his character was appreciated in this film and he got more chances to act in films. In 1974, he was seen in director Himmat Dave's "Balak Dhruv" a bollywood drama movie. Here, he played the role of Ashram Shishya. After that, he did work in hindi and gujrati cinema. Some of his popular movies are "Aankhen" (1993), "Barsaat" (1995), "Krishna" (1997), "Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam" (1999), "Tere Naam" (2003), "Hello! Hum Lallan Bol Rahe Hain" (2010), "Love Ni Bhavai" (2017) and so on.
Moving further, Ghanashyam not only did work in movies but also showed his talent on television world. In 2002, he was seen in StarPlus's popular show "Khichdi" as a salesman. After that, the actor was appeared in "ManiMatku" Gujarati serial in the lead role of "Matkalal". Along with this, he did work in numerous other television series and serials like ZeeTV's "Philips Top 10" (1994-99), "Dill mill gaye" (2007-2010), "Chhuta Chheda" (2012), "Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah" (2008-2021) and so forth.
In his 60 year's career, he did approximately 100 hindi and gujarati movies. Mr. Nayak also worked in near about 350 television series in hindi language and 100 Gujarati stage plays. He did dubbing in 350 gujarati films. In "Ek Aur Sangram and the Bhojpuri film Bairi Sawan" movie, he conferred his voice to veteran actor "Kanhaiyalal".
Ghanashyam Nayak was suffering from cancer. He was undergoing regular medicine and checkup. Finally, he took his last breath on 03-10-2021 in Mumbai at the age of 76.
