Gloria Estefan’s birth name is Gloria María Milagrosa Fajardo García. She was still an infant when she along with her parents relocated to Miami, US from Cuba. She was into writing poems and started learning the guitar while she was still a kid. Since she was battling with her personal family problems and hardly had any social life of her, she took music as an escape.
 
She was just 18 when she met the piano player named Emilio Estefan who along with working as a sales manager at Bacardi was also heading a band named Miami Latin Boys. The group had all apart from a lead vocalist and thus she was approached by Emilio to join their band as a lead singer. She started off by singing only during weekends as she was pursuing her graduation from the University of Miami. The group was later renamed as Miami Sound Machine and released their debut album titled Renacer after signing a deal with a local record label. 
 
Miami Sound Machine after getting contracted by Discos CBS International recorded 4 Spanish albums in a span of 2 years from 1981 to 1983. The group became popular in the Spanish speaking countries. The band though was hardly known in the United States. The band released their debut English album titled Eyes of Innocence in the year 1984. The album became a smash hit and the success of the album inspired them to write in English from onwards.
 
The band became immensely popular in the decade of the 1980s and 1990s and in 2015 a jukebox musical titled On Your Feet! was released on Broadway which featured the band’s most famous songs. In her illustrious career, she has won a lot of accolades and hearts.
