Griselda Blanco Complete Bio & Career

Known as the Black Widow, La Madrina, and the Queen of Narco-Trafficking, Griselda Blanco was one of the firsts involved in Miami-based cocaine drug trade and was a drug lord from Colombia of the Medellin Cartel. 
 
She got involved in crime at the age of 11. She even resorted to pickpocketing by the age of 13. She left home to escape sexual assault and was looting in Medellin till she turned 20. She fled to the US and with her second husband, she set up a cocaine business in the mid-1970s. Upon having federal conspiracy charges, she moved to Colombia, escaping arrest. She was actively involved in the Miami Drug War that spread across Miami in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Her drug distribution network across the United States brought her about US$80,000,000 per month. She was known for her violent business style and she used violence to suppress her competitors or people who disobeyed her. This even led to repeated attempts of an assassination on her. She was jailed by DEA Agents in 1985 and was sentenced to over 10 years of jail. However, while in prison, she continued her cocaine business. She was said to be responsible for over 200 murders and was known for her ruthlessness.Although sufficient evidence was there against her for three murders, the case somehow collapsed. Later, she was deported to Medellin. 
 
She was a drug addict and consumed a lot of ‘bazooka’. She also appeared in the documentary films like ‘Cocaine Cowboys’ and its sequel. A lot of her reference has been done in popular music and literature.
