Gulbadin Naib Complete Bio & Career

Gulbadin Naib is the current captain of Aghanistan cricket team. He is a useful all-rounder who bats at number 5-6 position and a more than handy medium pacer. He started his cricketing journey in the year 2008. It hardly took time for him to rose through the ranks and make his way into the international fold as he made his ODI debut in the year 2011 against Canada. 
 
Gulbadin though struggled to live upto the expectation both with the bat and ball in hand. He was soon dropped and after some prolific performances at the first-class level, he was finally given another chance during the tour of Zimbabwe in 2014. Again he failed and was therefore not included in the 2015 World Cup squad that went to Australia.
 
This time though, he started to learn from his mistakes and reinvent himself. He was again given a run during the 2016 tour to Zimbabwe and made a solid 82 in his comeback game. He again failed after that but was handy with the ball and hence somehow retained his place in the side. Due to his fast scoring ability, he was asked to open during the 2018 world cup qualifiers and this time he made this opportunity count with some significant scores and with his contribution his side finally won the World Cup qualifiers.
 
The biggest surprise in his career came after he was named the captain of Afghanistan side in April 2019 just months before the ICC 2019 World Cup. He tried his best and gave some good performances not just with the bat but with ball but still his side went winless in the world cup. He has also played in T20 leagues such as Afghanistan Premiere League and Bangladesh Premiere League.
