Hemant Birje, a fine actor of the 1990s is very popular for his role in “Adventures of Tarzan” with Kimi Katkarand is also known for being in controversies. He belongs to Belgaum, a city in the state of Karnataka.
 
Most of his roles in Bollywood movies are either in a lead character or as a Supporting actor, he has also worked in South movies. He made his debut with Adventures of the Tarzan which was released in 1985, Director Subhash wanted to make this movie in 3D, but during those days 3D Cameras were not in abundance and the only 3D Camera available was in Chennai. Subhash Ji was looking for someone with a tough body and soft face, for the title role and after more research, he found that in Hemant Birje and selected him for the same. Though the movie was mostly known for his bold scenes and was a flop, Hemant became the famous face then after.He has also acted in movies like Kabrastan, Veerana, Aaj Ka Samson, Angaara, Bhooka Sher and Kasam, few of them are literally unknown.
 
He has worked with actors like Mithun Chakraborty, Salman Khan, Sunny Deol and had mixed success in the films. The actor is not new to disputes, includes drunken fights, for assaulting his wife and abusing his minor daughter, recently he has been thrown out of the house because of not being able to repay his rent for months, moreover he was also in the news for making a nuisance of himself in actor Abhishek Bachchan’s birthday party.
