Jillian Rose Banks is a singer and songwriter from the United States. She is popularly known as simply Banks. She was born in California, then she relocated to LA and then she went to Tarzana when she was just 2 years old. She was inclined towards singing from her childhood days. At the age of 15 years, she started writing different songs. She did her bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Southern California.
 
On 5th September 2014, her debut album titled Goddess got released. During her college days, she came in touch with the DJ Yung Skeeter. It was she who helped her to bring in the British label Good Years Recordings. After making her first album, she had used social media cleverly by posting her number which made her fans to come closer to her. In the year 2013, her song titled "Waiting Game" was being featured in Victoria's Secret holiday commercial.
 
Banks further made a single “Better” and was released in the year 2015. By June 2016, she had finished the second album too. Banks even had to face some of the criticism from people due to some of her songs. However, Banks admits that the criticism and appreciations have both contributed to her success. Banks personally do not like to be on the social media. Rather, she runs the social media stuff with her management.
 
The work includes Goddess, The Altar Tour, etc. She was even nominated for several awards like Sound of 2014 and Brand New Nominee. Banks admits that she is highly influenced by the Fiona Apple and Lauryn Hill. When she was in the college, she admitted that she mostly kept her music private. This is because for her music had helped her overcome her emotions as she felt she was quite emotional then. She had quite a following not just in the United States but also across the globe.
