Raja is an entrepreneur and also a producer in the Indian film industry. He is now the owner of Studio Green, Blue Ghost Pictures and Aadnah Arts. He was interested in the film industry from his childhood and wanted to be a film producer.He is also a distant relative of actor Sivakumar. He started his debut in the producing field through the SillunuOruKaadhai movie. He produced this movie through Studio Green. The movie starred Suriya with whom he made collaborations till 2012. 
 
He earned profit through many movies like Singam and Naan MahaanAlla. Raja then started his career in the distribution field. He started it from the distribution of Attakathi and earned great success. He earned a little loss through Alex Pandian but then compensated it by movies like IndruNetruNaalai. 
 
He also faced trouble through Komban movie as it was based on hatred among different caste groups, according to some of its protestors. Also, rivalry from some of the filmmakers provided him in the film industry with the profile of an individual. Raja protested against piracy through a hunger strike. 
 
Since he experienced a lot of trouble with his film by piracy. He then became the secretary of the board of Tamil Film Producers Council. His other studios have a ghostly environment for horror movies. He also sought for being the president of the distributor association of Chennai but was not successful. 
 
He had produced a huge amount of movies like NOTA, Ghanjnikanth, and Devarattam. He also distributed movies like Saguni, Avakatthi and many more. Baahubali: The Beginning was also one of the movies which were distributed by him. Raja has received Filmfare awards for best film.
