In 2009, she signed a record deal to Jive Records, and then she released her first R&B-charting single, called "Fakin' It" featuring Missy Elliott, preceded by the release of these three R&B songs —"Fallin'", "I Just Can't-Do This", and "How Many Times"— that all of them have attained their spots on the charts, before she left Jive. In 2012, Michelle garnered further attention by appearing on VH1's reality series Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta. Following her appearance on the show, starring these shows landed her a new record deal with Atlantic Records, and she later released her long-delayed debut album Rebellious Soul on August 13, 2013. The album saw commercial success, debuting at number 2 on the US Billboard 200, and number 1 on the US Top R&B Albums charts.
 
The Soul Train award winner is best known for making her appearance on the popular reality series ‘Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta’ and ‘K. Michelle: My Life’. Starting her music career with Jive Records in the year 2009, today the R&B singer has emerged as one of the biggest musical stars in the USA. Besides name and fame, K Michelle has also managed to earn millions of fans and followers from all across the globe. As of September 2017, the American star had got approx 4.8 million followers on Instagram and 1.7 million followers on Twitter. She was out of the scene for a while but made 2017 her own with some huge hits. Her latest single  "Got Me Crazy" in which she featured alongside veteran artists like Fabolous, Rick Ross and DJ Feezy was highly acclaimed. She also associated with Chris Brown on single titled "Either Way". This song will feature in her upcoming album titled Kimberly: The People I Used to Know.
