Kartikeya Dev was born into a Hindu family. He did his schooling at a private school in Hyderabad. During his 10th class study, he made his acting debut through the Telugu film "Music School" in 2023. He was noticed by the audience with his first film. In the same year, he starred in the Telugu film "Salaar" as Young Vardharaj Mannar and received huge praise for his performance. In 2024, he played the role of actor Varun Tej's young Vasu in the Telugu film "Matka".
He acted in the Telugu film Naari; The Women, Tuk Tuk in 2025. In the same year, he made his Malayalam cinema debut in Prithviraj Sukumaran's film "L2: Empuraan". He also made his Tamil cinema debut through Adhik Ravichandran's film "Good Bad Ugly", in which he played the on-screen son of actor Ajith Kumar.
