Kunal Basu is an Indian novelist of English creative writing. He has an extreme love for the arts, writing, acting and paintings. He has written many short stories. He has written five famous novels that are kalkkatta, The Miniaturist, The yellow Emperor’s cure, The opium clerk.
In the Indian fiction, he was the first man to deal with the opium. He always has a great fascination for Mughal History. He also wrote a Muslim Novel in which there was not a single Indian character.
His first novel The Opium clerk came out in 2001 after his father died. This novel proved to be very lucky in his life as after its release he became famous in the world and rich man. His second novel The Miniaturist came in the 16th century which tells the story about Bihzad who was the son of court painter. His third novel Racists which came in 2006, which was about primitive environments as nature dictate. His fourth novel The yellow Emperor’s cure which came in 2011, in which the gritty to find a cure and he has described he finds his true love now he can’t go away behind. In his fifth novel, Kalkkatta which came in 2015, in which Jami is the Gigolo King of Kalkatta. His short story collection came out in 2008 in which he wrote about the Japanese women which were directed by the Aparna Sen.
