Initially, he selected advertising course after the secondary education. Moreover, he decided to go abroad – United States in order to accomplish his diploma course on filmmaking. Unexpectedly, during his journey, he got a chance to meet Mohit Suri with the help of their common friend Sahil. Later, he was also included in the team of Zeher movie. So, he began his career in the movie Zeher as the assistant director in the year 2005. In the consecutive year, he continued to work with the same team for other two movies Who Lamhe and Kalyug in the year 2006 under the banner of Vignesh Films. Later, in the year 2006, he decided to start his career in script writing. In order to accomplish his decision, he had to quit his assistant director job. 
 
However, he was successful in directing his first movie titled as Janat in the year 2008. The lead actor in this movie was Emraan Hashmi which was in turn produced under the same banner – Vignesh Films. Subsequently, in the year 2009, he directed another movie named Tum Mile. This movie was based on the incidents of Mumbai floods which occurred on July 26th, 2005. This movie again showcased Emraan Hashmi in the lead role along with Soha Ali Khan. Most prominently, his movie – Jannat 2 was an extreme hit at the box office.
