Lea Michele made her stage debut at age 8 in the musical Les Misérables. She then joined a troupe for a tour of performances of plays such as Side by Side by Sondheim and The Who's Tommy. She then appears in several other musical shows including Ragtime in 1998. That same year, she doubles one of the main characters in the animated film Buster and Chauncey's Silent Night. In 2004, she joined the musical A violin on the roof and L'Éveil du Printemps in 2006. She signed a performance noticed by profession and found herself nominated for the Drama Desk Awards for her role as Wendla Bergman in this latest production.
It is in this musical that Ryan Murphy noticed it, creator of the series Nip / Tuck then in search of the first female role of its new series, Glee.
