Lin always had creative inclination, from his young days he was interested in Music. He created jingles including the one which has been used for Eliot Spitzer’s campaign in 2006.
Multitalented Miranda wrote the lyrics and gave music for the musical “In the Heights” which opened on Broadway in March 2008 at the Richard Rodgers Theatre. This show was highly appreciated and got Lin various accolades and awards. He won Tony Award in 2008 for Best Original Score, Best Actor in a Musical. 
 
Even his show won Tony Award for Best Musical. The famous show additionally grabbed a Grammy Award in 2009 for Best Musical Theater Album.
 
Miranda’s second major Broadway musical was “Hamilton”, for which he gave the music and wrote the lyrics and the book. He won a Grammy Award and Tony Award for Best original Score and Best Book of a Musical in 2016 for the same.
