The only youngest player in the women’s singles draw, Marketa Vondrousova is a 19 years old professional tennis player getting popular for her outstanding performance. She is also considered to be the future of women’s tennis Czech by the professionals for the skills she plays each game with. She is also labeled as the heir of Petra Kvitova even though they both have different physical skills and technical viewpoints.
Born in Sokolov, Marketa started with tennis at the toddler age of 4 years only. By the time she reached the age of 10, she was in Prague practicing to be a professional. At the age of 15, she moved to Prague all by her own for further training.
Marketa made her debut in the WTA tour in doubles at the 2015 Sparta Prague Open with Katerina Vankova. The pair failed to perform and lost the match. It was a year later she made her WTA debut in singles in the 2016 J&T Banka Prague Open. In this match, she was successful to leave an impression by defeating OceaneDodin. While playing at the Roland Garros Junior Event, she again lost to Olesya Pervushina, after which she didn’t play for a year due to an elbow injury.
Marketa gave a grand comeback in the year 2017 after which she won a total number of 20 matches consecutively giving her $15000 title, $25000 title and two $25000 titles for finals. While playing the Ladies Open Biel/Bienne singles final in April 2017, she got an opportunity to enter the top 100 debuts and win it too after which she was declared to be the youngest winner of the WTA title after Konjuh’s title.
Marketa ranks among the top junior players who have reached the three Grand Slams finals with doubles. Marketa won girl’s doubles events in 2015 at the Australian and French Open. She along with the American player Cici Bellis were the runners up at the French Open that was held in 2014. Marketa is found progressing quickly.
