Mary Roy was born in 1933 in Aymanam, Kottayam in the state of Kerala, India. She was an Indian Educator, Activist, Philanthropist, Managing Director & Founder of the Corpus Christi High School (Pallikoodam), a school established in 1967. She was the mother of famous author Arundhati Roy. She was popularly known as the winner of a lawsuit against the gender-biased inheritance law in 1986.
