Matthew Duchene was born on 16th January 1991 in Dysart et al, Halliburton in Ontario, Canada. He is a professional Ice Hockey Player from Canada. Duchene took up ice hockey from a very young age and played for Ontario Minor Hockey Association. He played major junior for the 2007-08 season in the Ontario Hockey League and recorded 30 goals and 50 points in his very first season as a rookie. The next season he bettered his stats by scoring 79 points in the 57 games that he played. Finally he decided to enter the NHL draft in 2009 and was picked by Colorado Avalanche. 
He scored his first point in NHL on 1st October 2009 against the San Jose Sharks. In the very same season on 17th October 2009 he scored his first goal against Chris Osgood. In 2010 he was picked for the NHL All-Star Games. On 4th November 2011 he scored his first career hat-trick against Dallas Stars. 
Apart from playing for several franchisees he has represented in all capacities including U-17, U-18 and National Ice Hockey Canadian team.
