Mehmet Oz is a famous cardiothoracic surgeon. His complete name is Mehmet Cengiz Oz. He is also an author, a very famous pseudoscience promoter, television celebrity and also a professor at Columbia University. Oz has completed his schooling at Tower Hill School in Wilmington, Delaware. Post this, he completed his undergraduate in biology from Harvard University. Then he achieved an MBA and MD degrees from Penn's Wharton School and University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine respectively. He has been the class president during his college days.
 
Oz is now a very successful professor at Columbia University in the Department of Surgery 2001 onwards. He has done huge research in surgeries. His researchers include minimally invasive cardiac surgery, heart replacement surgery and also health care policy. He then thought of sharing his knowledge and create a platform where he will be able to answer all health related questions and create an interactive session. He made this possible by becoming the co-founder of Sharecare, Inc. with Jeff Arnold. Oz has also made many television appearances and has also written many bestsellers like You: On a Diet, You: Being Beautiful, You: The Owner’s Manual and much more. He also writes a regular column in O, The Oprah Magazine and in Esquire magazine. His articles have also been awarded. Oz is a very intelligent and knowledgeable person. He always talks about food, diet, health, and medicine in all his interactions and interviews. He has also promoted various therapies like Reiki, faith healing and much more. He also supports homeopathy. He is the first person to receive the "The Pigasus Award for Refusal to Face Reality" consecutively.
