Navjot Singh Sidhu was born on 20-10-1963 in Patiala in the state of Punjab, India. He is an Indian Politician, Television Actor, Columnist, Cricket Commentator, Television Commentator, Television Personality & former International Cricket Player.

Sidhu did his preliminary education at the Javendra School, Patiala and he did his graduation from Mohindra College, Chandigarh and also he is a graduate in Law from Panjab University. He played his first Test match in 1983 against the West Indies in Ahmedabad in which he scored only 19 runs. In the next match, he was unable to score more runs. He had to sit out of the team after playing the first two Test matches. After struggling in cricket for almost 5 years, his fate came when he was selected for the 1987 World Cup. He played four out of five matches and scored a half-century in each match. Playing in Sharjah against Pakistan, he made his first century in 1989. At the West Indies tour in 1997, he scored a double hundred. During the 1996 tour of England between Sidhu and Mohammad Azharuddin, there was a difference, due to which he was out of the team. Then he returned to the team and the second Test match that happened in Queen Park Oval, in which he had scored two centuries. Then he scored 201 runs in a match that was his highest score. He scored 124 runs against Sri Lanka, including his 8 sixes. Then he scored 415 runs in five innings in Australia.
Navjot Singh Sidhu has scored 3212 runs at an average of 42.13 in 51 test matches for India, including his 9 centuries and 14 half-centuries, while in his 136 one-dayers, Navjot scored 4413 runs at an average of 37.08 with 6 centuries and 33 fifties. In December 1999, and he announced his retirement in all formats of cricket. In the 2001 Indian team tour of Sri Lanka, he was appointed as a commentator. After that, he was engaged with Ten Sports for covering the cricket matches as a commentator. In 2012, he resumed his work once again for ESPN Star Sports. On Tv, he began his journey from The-Great-Indian-Laughter-Challenge, on Star One, where he was a judge with Shekhar Suman. After this, he participated as a contestant for the sixth season of the most popular reality show Bigg Boss, he had to leave the show midway due to political controversies.
Navjot Singh Sidhu Navjot Singh Sidhu won the Lok Sabha-seat from Amritsar in the general elections of 2004. After some time he had to leave his post due to the court case, but with the majority, he would remain in his seat. In the general elections of 2009, he defeated his rival by 6858 votes who was (Om Prakash Soni of Congress) and remained in Amritsar's seat. In the general elections of 2014, he did not get the Amritsar seat, but he did a lot of publicity for the Bharatiya Janata Party. Sidhu joined the Indian National Congress in January 2017, expressing resentment with the Bharatiya Janata Party, and contested the eastern region of Amritsar in the Punjab assembly elections and won the elections with a large margin of the majority. The difference was 42,809 votes. After that, he was sworn in as the minister in Punjab Cabinet. He though was heavily criticized after he went to Pakistan when Imran Khan was sworn in as their PM.
On 18-07-2021, he was appointed the President of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee.
